Giant Octopus Eats Sharks at Aquarium
http://www.FreeScienceLectures.com
The giant octopus is extremely common throughout the Pacific North West and they held a regular spot on display of the Seattle Aquarium over the years. But when the keepers decided to move one into a larger tank with sharks and other big fish they assumed that octopus' strength and camouflage would keep it safe. As it turns out they were tragically mistaken.
What was happening in aquarium was a mystery. Each week keepers were finding shark carcasses in the bottom of the tank. Week after week the three to four feet sharks kept vanishing. So one night someone staid up to see who the culprit was...

i heard an octopus can fit through a hole the size of its’ eye. Am I correct or was a lied to because that’s pretty amazing
Now that’s one helluva badass octo!
yupx agreed, this kind of thing i wont believe unless theres evidence.
imagine if a human swam past 1 if the shark got eaten a human would to…….ScArY
i doubt thats true man.
Well the narrator said that they stayed up one night to find out why their sharks were vanishing…
Yeah, I heard that same story. They’re pretty smart, so I would not be surprised if it were true.
yeah its true they can survive and walk out of water due to vacuoles of water in their bodies
you have to love those octopi i want one for a pet there smarter than dogs and can open all the jars in you’re house =D
Or if it is just something i thought I heard but really made up myself?
I’ve got a question. Did anybidy else hear about this thing that happened somewhere. ANyway these people kept there fish in different aquariums with lids and they had an octopus in its own container. Well the fish kept disapearing so the owners set up a camera. It revealed that the octopus had been escaping it’s tank and crawling over to the other tanks and eating the fish in them. Then it would go back to it’s tank. I just need to know if anybody else heard of that.
Muito loko véi!!!
Watch how the octopus knows by default to turn the shark on its back, making it go into a comatic state.
For such a tragic and unexpected mistake they sure seem to have worked in alot of good camera angles…
I think the narrator is trying to be clever by saying that the octopi strength and stealth would keep it safe. They assumed it would be in danger from the other animals when in fact it was the other animals that were in danger from it
I was thinking the same thing, lolz xD
It’s Miss. Bloody hell. (lol)
lol I don’t know why I put brit. It’s cuz I often hear brittish people narrating these “learning channel” videos and similar things.
Now MR. Know it all… how about the answer to my question?
LOL OWNED!!!
narrator is american…
The brit who narrates the video says that they assumed the OCTOPUS would remain safe and they were WRONG. How was the Octopus not safe?
Holy shit, that’s cool, weird, gross, and wrong, all at the same time!
